I love an afternoon ferry.

Today starts off as a beautiful, sunny warm day. It will also be my second ferry ride as I head to Iles-de-la-Madeleine. And the best part, the ferry leaves at 14:00 so plenty of time to pack and get ready.

All packed up I head to Souris and the first stop is the gas station to fill up the tank and 25 litres into the Rotopax. Not allowed any more than that on the ferry.

Upon recommendation from other riders filling up at the station, I head to the Blue Fin Restaurant for a beer and a lobster sandwich.

Then off to the lineup for the ferry to chat and answer questions about the bike.

The motorcycles are the first ones on and I use two straps to lock the bike in.

Two other riders pull up on their motorcycles and are given wood blocks to support their bikes. The blocks aren't the best so I offer them my spare straps and they use them to hold the bikes down.

Off to the top of the ferry to take some pictures. As I'm snapping away one of the riders I lent the strap to invites me to their table to join them for drinks.

We have a great time sitting in the sun and chatting.

We get closer to the islands and I take some more pictures including Ile d'Entree.

We get the call to go down stairs to get ready to disembark and the guys thank me as they return the straps.

The ship docks and I head on to the island. Try to stop at a tourist info but it is closed. I head down the road to Parc de Gros Cap.

I grab a cabin as the island is very windy and I don't think the tent will stand up to the winds as there is no windbreak.

Unload the bike then head into town looking for some food. Then back to the cabin for a good nights rest.
