East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 004

Woke up today to another cool and cloudy day. Headed in to Ottawa to do some site seeing. I travelled along the highway to save time but man was it cold and windy heading in to Ottawa.

I was going to do some site seeing in Ottawa but upon arriving the traffic was heavy so it was off to Orleans to Wheelsport, another Ontario Ural dealer. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 003

Today started out like the other days, cloudy and looking to rain. The sun started to poke through as I was getting ready to ride.

I crossed in to Quebec and made my way up to Morin Heights to take some pictures of Le Studio.

If you are a Rush fan or April Wine or The Police or the Bee Gees or David Bowie, ya , well they all have recorded here at one time or another. It is called Rush's Abbey Road. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 002

So today is memory lane day. Going to head in to a couple of small towns that I used to live in plus visit the most eastern point of Ontario by road.

But first things first. It rained all night. The tent held up, no leaks.

So heading west from Voyager Provincial Park the wind was quite strong. It made for a colder more tiring ride. (...)

East Coast Trip 2016 - Day 001

So this is the trip I wanted to do last year but because of the phantom electrical problem on the bike and work I postponed the trip.

Having learned from last years little trip I gathered all the stuff in to one pile in my apartment. This made the loading much quicker. The only problem was the weather.

Park to Park Trail 2015

So one of the places I wanted to go on my Great Lakes Coast line trip was the Park to Park trail. Thanks to my taking that old logging road that part of the trip never happened.

So a month later, the bike is all repaired and while the weather is still nice and the leaves are changing in to their fall colours, I decide it's time to do the Park to Park. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Epilogue

So the trip is over, the bike has been repaired, pictures and videos have been uploaded and the trip has been documented.

Thirteen days total with 2265 kilometres (by the Garmin) traveled. The weather was spectacular with temperatures in the high twenties and low thirties for the majority of the trip. It rained once while riding for an hour or two. Three nights it rained with one being a heavy thunder and lightning downpour. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Thirteen

Day thirteen, my last day of the trip. Not because I want it to end but because I have to get the bike fixed.

So after spending yesterday visiting with an old friend, today is trying to travel 150 kilometres so I can get my free tow from CAA. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Eleven

Today I wake up some what early to get a lot of stuff done.

I go out and have a good look at the bike. Besides the missing catalytic converter and the muffler the only other damage I can see is a dent in the sidecar fender. I have a look at the front end and it looks straight and even but I think a see a small bend on the front brake rotor. I can ride with the brakes as they are so nothing I can do there. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Ten

So the plan today was to hop on the ferry, trip around Manatoulin Island and then head up to Massey and grab a campground. Well some of that happened.

Got to the ferry late so I had to go in the standby line but luckily I got on.

This is now the third ferry I've been on this trip and it is the largest. I guess because I was on the morning trip the bar was closed. Oh well next time. (...)

Great Lakes Coast Line Trip 2015: Day Nine

Today I'm spending the day hiking through the Bruce. The weather was warm but cloudy all day. I started by going along the Marr Lake trail which is a medium to hard trail in my opinion.
